PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Product Features
The CM358A Crawler Mounted Hydraulic DTH Drilling Rig is designed for 90–165 mm blast hole drilling in open-pit mining, quarrying, hydropower construction and road projects. With a maximum drilling depth of 50 m and suitability for rock hardness from f=6 to f=20, it is a practical solution for contractors that need reliable drilling performance in medium-diameter rock drilling applications.
The rig uses a diesel engine or electric motor to power the hydraulic system for travelling, rotation, feeding, lifting and boom positioning. Compressed air is used for DTH hammer operation. This hydraulic and pneumatic working arrangement supports stable drilling performance while helping operators manage drilling, travelling and positioning from one machine.
CM358A crawler mounted hydraulic DTH drilling rig adopts diesel engine (or electric motor) and hydraulic oil pump assembly to provide power, allowing rigs to finish moving, rotating, feeding and lifting, as well as angle positioning.
During operation only the percussive DTH rigs consumes compressed air and in contrast to the conventional pneumatic rigs, CM358A saves about 40%~50% of total energy.
CM358A is suitable for blast holes in rock formations where mobility, drilling depth, working angle and reliable torque are important.

Why Choose CM358A
Designed for 90–165 mm Blast Holes
CM358A covers a practical borehole diameter range of 90–165 mm, making it suitable for many quarry, mining and construction blasting operations. It can be configured according to the required hole diameter, rock condition and air compressor capacity.
Hydraulic Operation for Drilling and Travelling
The hydraulic system supports travelling, feeding, lifting, rotation and positioning functions. This helps improve working control in uneven quarry benches, open-pit mining areas and road construction sites.
Suitable for Hard Rock Drilling
With an applicable rock hardness range of f=6–20, CM358A is designed for drilling in a wide range of medium-hard to hard rock conditions. The 3000 Nm rotation torque and 0–80 rpm rotation speed support stable drilling performance during DTH drilling operations.
Crawler-Mounted Mobility
The crawler chassis helps the rig move between drilling positions on rugged ground. With a travel speed of up to 2 km/h and gradeability of up to 24°, CM358A is suitable for job sites where wheeled equipment may be less practical.
Flexible Power Options
CM358A can be supplied with different power configurations based on local operating conditions and service preferences:
Yuchai diesel engine, 70 kW
Cummins diesel engine, 74 kW
Electric motor, 45 kW
The diesel version is suitable for mobile outdoor projects without a stable power supply. The electric motor version can be considered for fixed sites with available electricity and project requirements for lower on-site fuel consumption.
Recommended Air Compressor Matching
DTH drilling performance depends on proper air pressure and air flow. CM358A requires working air pressure from 1.2 to 2.4 MPa and air consumption from 11 to 21 m³/min.
When selecting an air compressor, the following factors should be considered:
Required borehole diameter
Rock hardness and drilling depth
DTH hammer and drill bit size
Site altitude and ambient temperature
Continuous working hours per shift
Whether the rig will operate with a dust collection system
JK Drilling can recommend a suitable compressor configuration based on your drilling conditions. Explore our Air Compressor solutions or send us your required hole diameter, drilling depth and site conditions for a complete recommendation.
Compatible Drilling Tools and Consumables
CM358A can be supplied as part of a complete DTH drilling package. A typical package may include the drilling rig, air compressor, drill rods, DTH hammer, drill bits and maintenance spare parts.
Available supporting products include:
Other drilling spare parts and maintenance components
Dust Collection Options
Dust control is an important consideration for quarry, mining and road construction projects, especially where operators work near populated areas, production lines or regulated job sites.
CM358A can be equipped with:
Hydraulic Dry Dust Collector
A hydraulic dry dust collector is suitable for projects that require dry dust collection during drilling. It can help reduce airborne dust around the drilling area and improve the working environment for operators.
Wet Dust Collector
A wet dust collector can be selected for job sites where wet dust suppression is preferred. This option may be suitable for specific local environmental requirements or project operating conditions.
Please tell us your project location and dust-control requirements so we can recommend the most suitable option.
