PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

CL351 is a crawler mounted pneumatic drilling rig designed for surface drilling projects where a reliable compressed-air supply is already available. It combines a powerful pneumatic drilling system with a heavy-duty hydraulic boom, providing a practical solution for quarry blasting, open-pit mining, hydropower rock excavation and construction drilling.

Unlike fully hydraulic DTH drilling rigs, CL351 is designed around an air-powered drilling system. Compressed air supports the drilling operation, while the hydraulic boom and feed positioning system help operators adjust the drilling angle and working position on uneven benches and changing rock faces.

With a borehole diameter range of 105–165 mm, compact transport dimensions and 35° gradeability, CL351 is suitable for contractors that need a mobile surface drilling rig for regular blast hole work in medium-diameter rock drilling applications.

Designed for Air-Powered Surface Drilling

CL351 is particularly suitable for projects where the contractor already operates a high-pressure portable air compressor or plans to purchase the drilling rig together with a matched compressor.

Typical applications include:

  • Quarry blast hole drilling

  • Open-pit mining bench drilling

  • Aggregate production drilling

  • Hydropower project rock excavation

  • Road cutting and slope excavation

  • Construction-site rock drilling

  • Small and medium-scale surface blasting projects

CL351 is mainly intended for surface rock drilling. For deep water wells, mud circulation drilling, reverse circulation sampling or large-diameter piling work, please refer to other drilling rig categories on our website.

Why Choose CL351

Pneumatic Drilling System for Air-Available Projects

CL351 is driven by compressed air and uses a pneumatic motor for drilling operation. This makes it a suitable option for mining and quarry contractors that already use portable high-pressure air compressors on site.

The rig requires working air pressure from 1.05 to 2.46 MPa and air consumption from 17 to 21 m³/min. The final compressor capacity should be selected according to hole diameter, rock hardness, drilling depth, hammer configuration and project altitude.

Flexible Boom and Feed Positioning

The heavy-duty hydraulic boom provides flexible positioning for drilling across changing bench profiles and uneven ground. The feed can be adjusted through multiple movement angles to support different drilling positions.

  • Feed lift angle: 180°

  • Feed swing angle: 50° left and 35° right

  • Boom swing angle: 45° left and right

  • Boom lift angle: 60° upward and 19° downward

This configuration helps operators position the drilling system more effectively when working on quarry benches, slopes and irregular rock faces.

Compact Layout for Site Mobility

With overall dimensions of 2780 × 2210 × 1470 mm and a machine weight of 5000 kg, CL351 is suitable for contractors seeking a compact crawler drilling rig for surface drilling operations.

The crawler chassis supports movement between drilling positions, while the 35° gradeability helps the rig work in quarry, mining and construction environments with uneven terrain.

Designed for Medium-Diameter Blast Holes

CL351 covers a 105–165 mm borehole diameter range, making it suitable for a wide range of quarry and surface blasting applications. The final drilling tool selection should be based on the required hole diameter, rock formation and available air compressor capacity.

Air Compressor Matching

A suitable air compressor is essential for pneumatic drilling performance. CL351 requires:

  • Working air pressure: 1.05–2.46 MPa

  • Air consumption: 17–21 m³/min

The final compressor selection should consider:

  • Hole diameter

  • Rock hardness

  • Required drilling depth

  • DTH hammer or pneumatic drilling tool specification

  • Number of operating hours per shift

  • Site altitude

  • Ambient temperature

  • Dust collection configuration

For higher-altitude sites, compressor output may need to be increased to compensate for reduced air density. JK Drilling can recommend a matched package based on your drilling conditions.
